DFS Okinawa K.K. is looking for a Director of Marketing, Japan/MidPac Division to support the brand vision and positioning through the ownership and accountability for all marketing activities implemented to increase brand awareness and sales for Japan, MidPac and Korea.

This position will report to Managing Director (Okinawa Division) & Global Marketing VP (HK)


RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Strategy & Planning

  • Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to grow DFS market share of the Japanese, PRC Chinese and Korean markets.
  • Drive success of divisional e-commerce roll-out
  • Plan, maintain and control marketing calendar of all local marketing activities:
      - Digital marketing activities
      - Events
      - Media/PR
      - Partnerships
      - Promotions & Activations
      - All other marketing activities
  • Manage all division consumer facing and internal marketing collateral and communication efforts to reinforce the DFS brand message
  • Translate global marketing activities and adapt where necessary and directed to local needs
  • Develop sales plans and targets for the Japan, PRC, and Korea market aligned with DFS strategic objectives.

Lead Generation/Pre-departure Marketing

  • Propose new collaboration and drive a rich portfolio of external promotional partners, relevant to our premium travel and shopping experience.
  • Partner closely with Japan, China and Korea marketing office to build awareness and traffic-driving strategies and initiatives from home country

In-Market and In-Store Activations & Communications

  • Plan and lead the execution of seasonal in-store promotions programs, find new targeted ways to create appeal for DFS destinations
  • Communicate and maintain relationship with partnering hotels, travel agents and other partners to drive visit to DFS
  • Establish, maintain and improve rapport with Local Ground Operators (LGOs), travel agents and hotels in ensuring maximum customer penetration to DFS through regular sales visit.
  • Negotiate contracts with new and existing tours operators and partners based on the guidelines established by the Global Marketing VP.

Analytics and KPIs

  • Analyze and report on campaign results and KPIs, highlighting successes, trends and opportunities. Maintain formal process to update and share findings with marketing teams and other stakeholders
  • Create and manage reports / dashboards to support efficient measurement of day-to-day marketing programs, PAX forecasts
  • Responsible for accurate monthly visit and sales reports to travel agents to review and maximize each travel agent’s performance; review Travel Agent Promotional Allowance (TAPA) payments
  • Manage, plan and control division marketing budget bottom-up
  • Understand and monitor the competitive landscape and provide insight and recommendations to drive the program business forward as best in class

Leadership & Connectivity

  • Form part of Japan, MidPac, and Korean Division Senior Leadership team responsible for delivering results, while providing unique experiences and unparalleled service to the traveling consumer
  • Manage and further develop the Consumer Marketing and Travel Industry Marketing teams
  • Support specific needs of the Airport business vs. T Galleria business
  • Support execution of global marketing activities as part of the corporate team
  • Liaise with global and local VM and CRM teams to efficiently support marketing activities

Profil

• Minimum 10 years senior level marketing experience
• Prior experience leading the planning and execution of marketing plans
• Self-starter and problem solver whom is proactive and solution oriented
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Able to identify, balance and address the interests and priorities of multiple groups of stakeholders
• Excellent written/verbal communication and analytical skills
• College degree in marketing or related field. Advanced degree a plus
• English language required
• Japanese language ability a plus
• Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel
• Experience in luxury / premium industry preferred
