The credit manager is in charge of the payment collection, following up the portfolio of clients within the EMEA region and working hand in hand with the team of Area Sales Managers and the Financial team in New York.
Management of account receivables for EMEA, with the objectives of minimizing credit risk.
Maintaining and improving the level of collection, both directly with the trading partners in collaboration with FDI.
Ensure that business development is in line with credit policies and procedures.
Manage the Credit management following the Marc Jacobs processes (opening of new accounts, insurance coverage, payment conditions, orders approval, customer reminder, litigations ...).
Set up New Customers in accordance with company policy.
Determine customer credit limits and manage risk using financial data, credit services, industry knowledge and peer connections.
Manage order flow.
Ensure timely delivery of invoices.
Collect on cash in advance orders and past due accounts.
Reconcile accounts as needed.
Respond to customer, sales team, warehouse and order management inquiries.
Respond to reporting and audit requests
Review after each season the "seasonal orders taken" and ensure that payment conditions are in line with our Credit policy.
Ensure our payment terms are respected and that business development is in line with credit policies.
Management of AR for all our clients EMEA.
Interfacing with FDI local agencies and customers to ensure timely payments are received - as well as sales to ensure that any queries/disputes are resolved.
Ensure update of the credit lines for accounts on payment plan.
Direct management of our European trading partners.
Management of all our prepay accounts (+150) - ensure they receive payment requests based on their seasonal orders and reminders on a periodic basis.
Single Point of Contact with Coface France, manage the arbitration process with Coface - constant negotiation by telephone/mail.
Letters of credit
Obtain required letters of credit, understand necessary terms, conditions, and timing.
Maintain and distribute a record of outstanding letters of credit with supporting information, (i.e. expirations, beneficiary, issuing bank, terms, etc.).
Meet closing deadlines; analyze and establish bad debt reserve
Manage arbitration processes with Coface
5 years of experience in wholesale credit and collections
Ability to read and analyze financial statements
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus
Apparel and retail experience a plus
French and English are mandatory languages.
Italian is a plus
